The Jim Drake X-15 harness is a unique hybrid harness developed together with Liberty. It’s basically a waist seat harness with a flexible hardshell back. This harness is ideal for wind foil racing. Available in various sizes.

Jim Drake X-15 harness distributes the forces

Because the Drake X-15 harness is lower, this provides the following advantages:

• More freedom of movement of the upper body
• Less strain on the back
• Easier to lock your position while foiling
• Much better control in the reaching course and downwind (wind foiling and slalom surfing)
• The weight is 2.2 kg. The Drake X-15 trapeze is not allowed in the IQfoil class

If you are used to a traditional waist harness, the Drake harness takes quite some time before you get used to it. In addition, our experience is that on average you need 2 to 4 inches longer harness lines.

Choose the right size Drake X-15 harness

The X-15 harnesses are smaller than the comparable Liberty harnesses. Our advice is to stick to your clothing size! You can therefore use the sizes below as a starting point.

Size chart (waist):

• Small: 60 – 80 cm
• Medium: 80 – 100 cm
• Large: 100 – 120 cm
