The Starboard Carbon GT-R plus foil has an 85cm carbon mast, an aluminum fuselage of 95cm. The wings are made of carbon, with the front wing having an area of 800 cm2 and the back wing 330 cm2. With the Starboard GT-R Carbon Plus, the plus fuselage further puts the blades forward, giving this foil even more lift compared to the regular Starboard GT-R foils. This is a performance oriented windfoil and is intended for the demanding foilers who consider stability and control important.

Starboard Carbon GT-R plus foil

The Starboard Carbon GT-R plus foil is between the regular GT-R and Race. With this model, the mast is 85 cm long. The Starboard GT-R carbon plus Foil gives more lift than the GT-R because the mast is further back in the fuselage, which further leads the blades (compared to the board). As a result, the GT-R plus goes up even earlier. This wind foil is ideal for the lighter and speed-oriented wind foilers and this foil also works very well under narrower (windfoil) boards. We believe that this wind foil is now very close to the Starboard Race foil but is slightly more agile and easier to wind half wind.

This is a performance foil and ensures that you fly around 8 knots and an experienced wind foilcan foil up to at least 20 knots with it. The large wings and its shape contribute to this and provide more stability and easier 'take off' with little wind. The front wing has an area of 800 cm2 and the back wing 330 cm2. The aluminum fuselage is 95 cm long. This wind foil is slightly less high on the wind and slightly less spacious than the Race foil. But differences are quite small.

The GT-R carbon plus foil is very stable (front rear stability), due to the longer fuselage. Although this is a performance wind foil, we also find him suitable for the 'sporty' novice wind foiler.

Trim capabilities fuselage plus

With this fuselage you get about 6 'spacers' delivered to trim the high of the rear wing. The recommended angle is -1.5 degrees or -1.0 degrees

-2° for a > 25 knots
-1.5° for many wnd 15-25 knots
-1° for wind speed of 12-14 knots (recommended default mode)
-0.5° for wind speeds between 10-12 knots
-0° for wind speeds around 8-9 knots
+1° for wind speeds around 7 knots

Our findings on the Starboard Carbon GT-R plus foil:

+ Lift early by longer fuselage and slightly more stable by shorter mast and suitable for slightly less deep water
+ A fast wind foil, slightly less race oriented than the Race foil
+ Flying around 8 knots
+ Very good construction
+ For both experienced and novice wind foiler
+ Many trim options allow you to make the deployment range of your windfoil very large
+ The windfoil becomes slightly more stable compared to the regular Starboard Fuselage 95 cm

- No storage bag is included
- This foil makes the GT redundant

Who is the Starboard GT-R Carbon plus Foil suitable for?

+ This wind foil is suitable for demanding experienced wind foilers who are more speed oriented and are looking for that challenge.
+ Looking for maximum speed and also want to wind with more wind
+ Windfoilers who want to foil in flat indoor water
