Description

Looking for an upgrade of your Starboard wind foil? With a longer fuselage you get more lift and more stability. The IQfoil QR code sticker makes it suitable for participation in the IQfoil class.

With the 115cm long fuselage plus you get windfoil even better racing properties. Best to combine with the 800, 900 or 1,000 cm2 front wing and the 255 cm2 back wing -2°. Fits on either starboard’s aluminum or carbon masts. In any case, opt for the 85cm or 95 cm long mast. Compared to the regular fuselage 115 cm, the front wing is even further forward and you can trim the blades in terms of angle. So even sooner up and even wider. Read our experiences with this fuselage

Trimmable fuselage

With this fuselage you get 6 ‘spacers’ delivered to trim the angle of the rear wing. The recommended angle is -1.5 degrees or -2.0 degrees. Because the front wing is further forward than with the regular fuselage 115 cm, this fuselage gives much more lift. You can use the regular back wing 255 cm2, but our experience is that it gives too much lift above 12 knots (even if you use the -2° spacer. Our advice is to use the back wing 255 cm2 -2°.

-2° for >>10 knots (recommended default mode)
-1.5° for high winds 8 to 9 knots
-1° for wind speed around 7 knots
-0.5° for wind speeds around 7 knots
-0° for wind speeds around 6 knots
+1° for wind speeds around 5 knots

Our findings on the Starboard Fuselage 115 cm plus

+ Because the front wing is further forward, this fuselage gives the foil an early lift
+ Only suitable for foiling upwind and downwind with large racing sails
+ Only suitable for the (very) experienced match foiler

– Not suitable for lighterwind foilers (<75 kg)
– Not suitable for foiling half wind (only up to about 6-7 knots)
