The Starboard UCS angle spacer set is an essential tuning accessory to get the most out of your Starboard UCS wingfoil or windfoil. One set consists of 7 aluminum spacers in 0.25-degree increments.

Included in the UCS aluminum spacer set are:

• 0 degree spacer
• 0.25 degree spacer
• 0.5 degree spacer
• 0.75 degree spacer
• 1.0 degree spacer (is default spacer on the fuselages)
• 1.25 degree spacer
• 1.5 degree spacer

How to use the UCS shims?

With the standard 1 degree shim (this is supplied as standard with every UCS fuselage) the foil provides an average amount of lift. This is a fine setup for most foilers.

The lower the number, the more lift the foil provides!

If you replace the (standard) 1 degree shim with, for example, the 0 degree shim, the angle of the wing will become steeper, increasing the amount of lift. That takes some getting used to. In summary, the lower the number, the greater “the angle of attack” causing the foil to provide more lift.
