Windfoil introductory lesson

Yes, being able to windsurf is necessary to be able to learn wind foiling. The basis of wind foiling is also windsurfing.

If you can do the following on a funboard, then your level is sufficient to learn wind foiling;

• Being able to windsurf on a funboard (without a daager)
• Being able to plan on a funboard
• Being able to stand in the front foot straps
• Be able to pump your shelf into plan

If you do not control the above parts or not sufficiently, then unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will actually learn the wind foiling during the course. Starting with a private funboardsurfing lesson is then a good preparation for this course. Here, too, you can come to us for this. Ask about the possibilities.

Age doesn’t matter to us. If you master the following at a minimum, you can also learn wind foiling;

• Being able to windsurf on a funboard (without a daager)
• Being able to plan on a funboard
• Being able to stand in the front foot straps
• Being able to sail with trapeze

Yes, experience shows that the students experience learning wind foiling as very heavy and intensive. A good (windsurfing) condition is therefore very important to be able to get the most out of your wind foil lessons. Also make sure you are well rested when you start the wind foils.

You don’t learn windsurfing, every windsurfer knows that. However, the ‘windsurfing condition’ and the ‘windsurfing feeling’ can sink a bit if you have not surfed for a long time. We have now noticed that it helps if you have recently (less than a 1/2 year) sailed on a funboard.

Our advice is therefore: If you have not surfed for a long time and you want to learn wind foiling, we advise you to first rent a (light weather) funboard a few times and ‘get back in’.

• With 2 sessions at most, you really have the windsurfing feeling to get back to it
• The wind foil lessons last up to 2 hours, make sure that condition is sufficient to maintain this, you do most on the arms
• In any case, when practicing, focus on getting into plan as quickly as possible and standing smoothly in the (front) foot strap.

If, as described above, you are well prepared for a wind foil lesson, then you have much more fun and you learn to wind foil much easier.

The wind foil lessons continue when the wind forecast is between 10 and 24 knots. If the wind expectation is less or more, we cancel the lesson. We will let you know by e-mail the evening before the lesson (around 18:00) whether the lesson will take place. If the lesson does not take place, we will postpone the lesson to the next date.

In our groups, up to 4 people participate in the lessons at the same time. This allows us to give everyone enough attention to master the wind foiling. The instructor goes up the water with you and guides you on the water. Everyone gets their own set to practice with during the lesson.
