FMX Hyperion – Slalom / Race Wind Foilboard

FMX racing is a new brand that is making good quality progress. The FMX Hyperion wind foil board are high end slalom / race wind foil board for the most demanding windoilers. The Hyperion ’23 is available in 3 versions;

• FMX Hyperion 158 – Slalomfoil | 211 cm L | 85 cm W | 158 L volume | 8.2 kg | 5.5 – 9 m2
• FMX Hyperion 178 – Slalomfoil | 214 cm L | 91 cm W | 178 L volume | 8.9 kg | 6,0m2 – 10,0m2
• FMX Hyperion 214 – Racefoil | 217 cm L | 100 cm W | 214 L volume | 9.6 kg | 7.8 m2 – 11 m2

FMX Hyperion updated shapes

The shapes of the FMX Hyperion slalom foil boards have received the following updates;

• More V in the nose for better bounces at nose drops
• The cut outs have been adjusted for a better balance
• The entire shape has been made more efficient

FMX Hyperion inspired by Americans cup

The FMX Hyperion boards are deigned from very high quality carbon also the finish is of very high quality. In addition to material, FMX also uses design insights from the Americans cup. The shape of the boards clearly shows that FMX sails (or flies) a different course than other A-brands.

Which FMX Hyperion should you have?

For slalom wind foiling it is best to use the 158 for medium wind or the 178 for light wind. Despite the fact that FMX itself indicates a very wide sailing range, the Hyperion 158 comes into its own best with sails from 6.0m2 to about 8.0m2. The optimal sailing range for the Hyperion 178 LR is from 7.0m2 to 9 m2.
