For the first time since the introduction of the Starboard wind foils in 2017, the range and (unfortunately) also the construction is being overhauled. In addition to new foils, the fuselage system will also change and new parts will be added and a number of carbon masts. We list the changes for you.
More and new Starboard carbon masts
At the moment there are already 2 different qualities of carbon masts available. The regular and the stiffer IQfoil carbon mast. There is now one even stiffer carbon mast and of the 2 stiffest carbon variants there will also be 2 masts with a right angle.
The current carbon masts (the regular and carbon mast) now have an angle of 87 degrees (measured from the back), so they are slightly backwards. Of the stiffest variants, there will now also be a mast with an angle of 90 degrees. This means that the front wings are about 5 cm further forward compared to the board. This gives even more lift!
The regular carbon mast (available in 85 and 95 cm) will be called C300, the stiffer quality C400 (the Iqfoil mast will continue to be called Iqfoil mast) and the stiffest mast will be called C600. The IQfoil carbon mast is already very expensive, but the C600 will cost more than € 2,300. Meant for the ‘elite’ who really need the stiffest mast. Starboard EVO fuselages
As far as we are concerned, the Starboard Fuselages excel in solidity. Only the ‘bulb’ on the front of the fuselage ensures that the aerodynamics are not optimal. Because the competitors such as Phantom and SAB are panting in the neck of Starboard, the construction has been adjusted and the aerodynamics improve. And improved aerodynamics mean more speed and also a ‘smoother’ feeling during foiling.

95 cm EVO = same geometry as the 95 cm plus fuselage
105 cm EVO = same geometry as the 105 cm plus fuselage
115 cm EVO = same geometry as the 115 cm plus fuselage
120 cm EVO = same geometry as the 115 cm plus plus fuselage
115 cm EVO classic = same geometry as the old 115 cm (black) fuselage
102 cm EVO classic = same geometry as old fuselage + wings of the Super Cruiser

Reinforced connection front wing
The front wings protrude slightly at the front of the fuselage and there is an extra notch in the front wings, so that the front wings are even better fixed on the fuselage
All back wings trimable
The trimable back wing, d.m.v. the plastic spacers remains unchanged and will therefore be delivered on every wind foil from 2022, from Super Cruiser to Formula race.
Starboard front wings
In addition to the adjustments to the fuselage mounting system, most profiles have been taken under the barrel by Starboard and optimized. The range will look like volts
- Super cruiser 1700 cm2 = unchanged profile
- Super flyer 1300 cm2 = new profile
- Freeride 1100 cm2 = unchanged profile
- 1000 cm2 front wing = unchanged profile
- 900 cm2 front wing = new profile with thinner tips
- 800 cm2 front wing = new profile with thinner tips
- 725 cm2 front wing = unchanged profile
- 650 cm2 front wing = unchanged profile
- 575 cm2 front wing = new profile and replaces old 550 cm2
- Smaller? Not yet known, but we do expect smaller wings 🙂

No adjustments or new models here. All old back wings also fit on the new EVO fuselages!

New range starboard wind foils 2022
We found that in recent years a number of foils were positioned somewhat ‘close together’ or had become a bit redundant. Apparently Starboard thought so too. We think the set-up of the range from 2022 is a lot more logical and clear. In any case, all Starboard Windfoils (except the IQfoils) will get the new fuselage system from 2022, the Super cruiser also had a separate fuselage with a different connection for the front and back wing. Below is the overview of the wind foils model 2022.
Starboard Super Cruiser AFO
This very popular wind foil is going to be overhauled. Instead of the deep tuttle connection, it gets a mast with top plate, so it can only be used with a board with a US box (such as hybrid wind / wingfoilboards. The Super Cruiser fits perfectly with that, of course. He also saw the new EVO fuselage.
The front wing remains unchanged (except for the fuselage attachment). The old front wing will be replaced by the existing 330 cm2 back wing.
Starboard Super Flyer wind foil
A brand new wind foil that sits between the Super Cruiser and Freeride in terms of surface, but also in terms of characteristics. Because the Super Cruiser is now available with Top Plate (and is therefore only suitable for the Hybrid wind foil boards with US box), there is room for a new wind foil.
Due to the curved tips of the front wing, the straight-line stability will be better than the Super Cruiser. Ideal for wind foilers who find fast up more important than going fast.
Starboard Freeride EVO
The Starboard Freeride foil changes the least. The foil that we sold the most in recent years only gets the new EVO fuselages and of course the front wing has been adapted for mounting on the new connection system. The wind foil has the perfect balance between early, stable and forgiving wind foiling combined with a more than acceptable speed for most wind foilers.

Starboard GTR EVO
The GTR changes the most. No two parts remain the same. Actually, we don’t think the name fits anymore. The new GTR has become a hardcore slalom wind foil.
Inspired by the PWA wind foil slalom, this wind foil is in 1 x quite high end, aimed at the demanding GPS oriented wind foiler. The specifications don’t lie!
Starboard Race EVO carbon
This golden oldie race foil is also updated with the new fuselage and is also available in a version with aluminum mast and carbon C300 mast of 95 cm.
Because the GTR is going more towards high end slalom and there is also an extreme Formula Race foil, you can see this foil as an all-round freerace foil.
Starboard Formula wind foil EVO
The most extreme and performance-oriented wind foil is the Starboard Formula. Developed for the open class wind foils and for the most demanding wind foiler.
In addition to the new fuselage system, this foil also has the extra rigid C400 carbon mast with an angle of 90 degrees. This allows wings to be about 5 cm further forward, so that you can wind foil even earlier and windfoil even higher upwind.

Will parts of the old fuselage system remain available?
It is nice to switch to a new fuselage system, but the old front wings no longer fit!!! A bit of good news anyway. Part of the old range remains available with us. With us you can continue to order the following parts;
- Fuselage 115 cm plus (at least until 2024)
- Fuselage 105 cm plus (only in 2022)
- Fuselage 95 cm plus (at least until 2024)
- Front wing 900 cm2 (at least until 2024)
- Front wing 800 cm2 (at least until 2024)
The masts and back wings from before 2022 also fit the new generation of EVO fuselages!
