The Youth Journal has recorded an item about wind foiling for kids at Windfoilen Nederland. A group of young enthusiastic wind foilers between the ages of 9 and 15 have given a demo and told why they like wind foiling so much. We really enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm of the kids. Watch the broadcast of the youth news below.
How can children learn to wind foil?
Like adults, children can take wind foil lessons with us. It is important that the children can already windsurf and at least do the following;
- Planing (on a board without sword)
- Standing in the foot straps
- Being able to ‘pump’ your shelf into plane or an ‘active cruising position’
In practice, this means that children already have around 2 to 3 years of windsurfing experience and that they are at least around 10 years old. If you doubt whether your kids already have enough experience, just call or email us.
Books wind foil lessons
Every weekend we organize wind foil lessons. The lessons are already going on from one person and we go up to 4 students at the same time. The lessons will continue as long as it is at least 10 degrees and there is between 10 and 20 knots of wind.
You use a suitable board with a wind foil and use your own sail. Don’t you have your own sail? No problem, you can rent that from us. We even have special, extra light, children’s sails from 3,0 m2!
